Precious Metals Seminar - 29th July, 2022 I was invited to speak at artist Melanie King's 'Precious Metals' seminar on Friday 29th July, 2022. I first met Melanie early in 2021 when she asked me to teach her my silver reclamation from photographic fixer method that I developed to plate my jewellery and artwork as part of my contribution to London Alternative Photography Collective's Sustainable Darkroom Residency back in April 2020. Melanie's work from her project was exhibited at Photofusion, London. The accompanying seminar “broadly considers the use of precious metals in astronomy, photography, jewellery, and engineering". |
re.source Publication Launch - 17th July 2022
By The Sustainable Darkroom A collection of essays, recipes, questions and ideas towards more sustainable photography. Includes updates I made in early 2021 from my initial work the year before on silver reclamation from used photographic fixer to plate my jewellery and artworks. Also, some initial methods I developed in 2021 of reusing non-recyclable resin-coated photographic paper as a material for creating jewellery and 'gemstones'. |
